Don't Skip the Struggle!
Today I’m here with some tough love. Lately I’ve been hearing alllll of the excuses.
I don’t have time to workout.
Eating healthy meals makes it hard to sit down as a family.
I have this vacation coming up, so now isn’t the time.
I tried for a week, and it just didn’t work for me.
Friends, don’t skip the struggle! Making a lifestyle change is HARD. It’s a LIFEstyle after all!
Why is it that we jump onto the next quick fix so easily, but when something heads our way that could be the best opportunity we push it aside and make excuses? It took time to get out of shape, create unhealthy eating habits, and gain the weight, so why do we expect it to come off and get better within just a few days?
It’s time we stop the cycle of trying things for a few days and giving up when we don’t see results.
It’s time we take on a challenge with the intent to overcome it, rather than walking away when the going gets tough.
It’s time we remember why we’re seeking change in the first place.
It’s time we stop skipping the struggle.
The struggle is often where we find the most change, the most strength, and learn the most about ourselves. It’s where we recreate healthy habits, find a rhythm in our exercise routine, and find joy in getting healthy. The struggle is where it counts!
Friends, I’ve been there - a quick fix is so much more appealing than putting in the work over time. But who says we should stray away from a challenge?!
