The Comparison Game: Part 2

The Comparison Game_ Part 2.png

In the past, I have touched a little bit on the comparison game that women play and how it is not only unhealthy, but it can severely damage our self-esteem. Today, I want to focus on how we can stop the comparison game once and for all and really begin to truly appreciate our own selves for who we are!

  1. Focus on Your Individual Strengths: You are uniquely and wonderfully made and there is no one else on this earth like you! You have qualities that make you amazing. Use your strengths to figure out your zone of genius and go change the world!

  2. Don’t Believe Everything You See: Most of us have misconstrued ideas about what other people are doing. In reality, a lot of those things are not happening at all...or at least, not how you think. Either way, stop it right now! Social media can absolutely make you comparison crazy! Often times it fuels the misconceptions we already have about other people and their lifestyles, houses, cars, jobs, etc. Stop paying so much attention to what others are doing online. Not everything is as it appears.

  3. Do What You Love for the Sake of Loving It: If you are doing what you love because you truly love doing it, then there is no reason to compare your life to someone else's. Yes, there will be seasons that you wish you could just fast-forward, but God has us in these seasons of life for a reason. Keep pursuing what you love and do it for the right reasons - not because someone else is doing it or it’s something you think you need to do to “keep up with the Joneses.”

In the end, instead of focusing on others, focus on YOUR goals. Work hard towards them and strive to be the very best version on YOU instead of trying to keep up with what someone else is doing. What works for one doesn’t always work for another! By taking back control over our minds, we can finally WIN the comparison game!
