3 Reasons You Should Start Working Out Today

I hear it all the time: I will start my new workout plan on Monday.


I will go to the gym tomorrow.

Here’s the deal, if you want to start working out and truly build a lifelong habit...TODAY is the day to start.

Here’s why…

You won’t have more willpower or motivation tomorrow.

I find it so interesting that people somehow feel that all of a sudden they will wake up tomorrow, or Monday, or the first of the month with a renewed motivation and stronger willpower than they have right now. It’s as though they believe in some kind of magical motivation fairy that sprinkles sparkly willpower dust over people overnight, or over the weekend! Seriously, it’s going to be just as hard to start tomorrow as it is today...so just start today!!!!

Action begets action.

Seriously! Once you finally start, that sense of accomplishment will fuel your workout tomorrow, and that will fuel the next day. It will also have some crazy side effects: more energy and greater focus on what you eat...which is pretty great if you are looking to lose weight. One small action today can provide you with just enough motivation for another small action...which will lead to another, and another and another. You have the ability to start your healthy lifestyle RIGHT NOW!!!! So go ahead and start.

Don’t give yourself time to opt-out.

If you wait until tomorrow or Monday, then you are giving yourself a million opportunities to talk yourself OUT of your workout. Just get it done now and move on with your day. Then...there’s no chance you will talk yourself out of it, because you will already have killed it in the gym!

There is nothing magical about tomorrow, Monday or the beginning of the month. There is no willpower or motivation fairy that is going to come sprinkle some magical fairy dust on you tonight. Just get started. Today. There will always be a million reasons to put it off, but the feeling you get after killing a workout is truly unbeatable...so don’t put off for tomorrow, what can be done today.
