Holiday Eating Tips: Staying on Track
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If your summer has been anything like mine, then you have spent a lot of time with friends and family surrounded by a ton of amazing food and are in need of some holiday eating tips before Labor Day. But how do we stop ourselves from indulging and overindulging, especially with Labor Day just around the corner?
Here’s a few tips and tricks I have for you that I will be reminding myself of as we get closer to Labor Day.
Eat before you go anywhere.
Make sure that you’re filling yourself up with things that your body needs – fruits and veggies, good carbs, healthy fats – so that you can indulge In some little things but fill yourself up with great stuff.
Offer to bring something that you know will fit your macros for that day.
Offer to bring a veggie tray. Offer to bring a quinoa salad. Something that you know will be great for your macros and keep you on track, that everyone else will love.
Plan your cheat.
It’s totally 0K to cheat every once in awhile. Plan your feast days to be days when you have cookouts, but plan what your cheat’s going to be. Are you going to have dessert? Are you going to have an extra glass of wine? Are you going to have a beer? Are you going to have a hotdog on a bun or a hamburger on a bun instead of skipping the bun? What is your cheat going to be? Then stick to it. If you can plan what you are going to eat and plan what your cheat is you are going to enjoy it so much more.
Enjoy yourself. Don’t forget the whole point of a cookout, a barbecue, a family gathering is to enjoy yourself. You don’t have to overindulge to enjoy yourself. And you can always go for a little bit of an extra run or do a few extra sprints. Enjoy yourself. Don’t kick yourself for that extra little bit of whatever you’ve indulged in. Enjoy it...

Alright, I am off to enjoy some more family fun before the end of summer is here! Seattle is the next family trip coming up and I can not wait!
